cameras

I am having a problem with my camera. I built a scene with three rooms. I used footage as the measurments so it would be at real world scale, but no matter how I turn the camera inside a room it keeps going through the wall. I need to be able to look around the entire room without it doing this. I have to also take the camera through the house to the other rooms in my animation.I trying scaling the far plane of the camera but that did not work. How do you set a camera up so you can look through a whole house scene without it going through the walls when you turn the camera to look at other parts of the room. I have two weeks left to finish this and I am trying to get the cameras down before I texture so I can spend the rest of the time texturing and on special effects. Any help is appreciated.
