Default Convert .3ds to Maya

Hey guys,

I found a model of a dinosaur but its only in .3ds. Is there a way I can convert it to maya binary or something without using 3DsMax? Or if some kind and brilliant person could export it to .obj if they hav 3dsMax

I'll attach it just incase.

Thanks

the easiest and cleanest way with transfering data between max and maya is the FBX fileformat. get the latest version from the autodesk website. works very well too with animated rigs.

Hey thanks for the help. I downloaded the Bonus Tools and it worked but I have found a better model in .Max format which can't be imported. Could it be exported to FBX in 3dsMax then I could import it?

Thanks

Yeah thats the thing. I dont own 3ds Max. I was wondering if there is a plugin or if someone could do it for me. That would be so awesome.
