Funky Bunnies - Winter challenge

Hey all, this was such a fun prompt I decided to join in

Here's a really crappy sketch of my initial thoughts haha
I'm not sold on the camera angle or composition at all, just the general idea (weak, I know :p ). I've always wanted to do someone getting hit in the face with something, but to exaggerate it while still maintaining some realism.

Nice idea man!

Sure your going to get it as ref but the "super Punch" at the end of the matrix would be pretty good ref for this.

Nice to see you in the fray so to speak!

I actually haven't seen the super punch still... so the thought didn't cross my mind, gster haha I'll check it before the next pass for sure.

I did a rough version of the face - which I'll definitely push further. The colors are a little wonky in places, but I was just playing around and it'll get a lot more love :p

OK, I'm confused here, is that your work or is that a refference piece. No offence, but I'm only asking because we have not seen the base mesh yet.

I like it, he looks rather dumb but I guess that is the look you're aiming for. user added image

Gotta love Zbrush aight.

How did you do the "beard" btw? Did you just use a alpha and had a darker colour to it or did you texture it in a other software?

And it looks like he got a little beard on his lips. user added image

Perhaps the right eye should go inwards as he gets hit, he looks to focused at the moment. user added image

Keep it up!

haha I don't blame your skepticism, I shoulda posted the basemesh. I ended up using this, which is a modified version of an older basemesh. I wasn't planning on submitting an entry, so I don't mind if that makes me ineligible.

Weyu, yeah the beard was just really sloppily done with an alpha + poly painting in ZB. You're right that the pose isn't realistic, but I was trying to exaggerate it. Although his muscles wouldn't react that way, I wanted his right eye open more so that I can capture both his pain and fright.

Some Guy - No worries, this didn't take that long and I just don't usually have too long to work on this stuff so I was trying to block it out a bit early on.

[edit: oops looks like the img tags need 'http' to function afterall. and thanks, arran user added image]
