Default modelling a lantern

am a beginner and am doing a tutorial on modelling a lantern and am stuck were it says go into yo object mode so that i cud use revolve. how do i go into object mode.

hover over the mesh, and hold right click, and then move over to object mode, and then release right click

thankx i have modelled my first lantern and i guess as u complete these small projects u 'l be grasping maya bit by bit
