Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Avi as texture error

From what i understand, maya takes avi's as a valid texture imput. but, i havent been able to get it to take an avi or any other movie for that fact, as a texture file. i keep getting some error similar to this.......{ERROR, Cannot open AVI (Microsoft® audio/visual interleaved) file "C:/so and so.avi" as an image file: it contains no image tracks
RIFF tag size(122884448 + 8) and file size(122884608) don't match
AVI compression mode is not supported}...anyone know whats wrong?

You have to use the movie node, not a texture node. Then you have to enable the Use Frame Extension on the movie node and animate the Frame Extension for example by keying it.

even then there are some avi's that the movie node won't animate for some reason... I've been trying to determine why.... :p
