Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

house 04 bake quality issues help

Hi all

I am slowly working my way through the House Tutorial set 04 and have come across an issue. I am following video "part_13_maya_mila_roof_maps_main_house" i have baked out the AO maps using the python script but the quality of them is very poor. I have validated the settings against what Dave has in the videos but still the quality isn't great. When i apply the baked set to the walls some of the walls disappear as though there is an alpha at work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Mythandra

If you used a lambert break the connection to the transparency and that should solve one issue, as for the quality give me a chance to review the part and i'll come up with some suggestions for you.

I'm unsure as to why you're getting the quality issues, however that map should be good enough for the dirt painting in Mari if your watching volume 4 try doing the AO with xnormal you'll probably get a better result.

I'll have another go tonight and see what's what. Sorry been a bit hectic round here the last few days.
