Good ol' AthlonXP, but which one?

greetings my fellow mayans
ive been trying to decide on a processor for my new computer, the new computer will be running maya, combustion, quite a few games, and photoshop
which processor is best for the job? (disregarding money cos i can make sacrifices elsewhere)
oh, and please, no1 suggest a dual cos i cant afford that :p

XP2800+ (thoroughbred core)
XP2800+ (barton core)
XP3000+ (barton core)

i heard the 3000 gets really hot? and the bartons are supposedly underperforming? dunno, just wanted your views on this

thanks

which reviews? id like to see them, ive seen the ones on tomshardware

and i always thought rendering and that is about cpu speed, if so the thoroughbreds have the advantage cos the increased L2 cache only stores info, doesnt speed it up directly whic i think ppl are getting hyped up about?

whats so great about the bartons?
