Rendering cube sides

Hi all. Im new and from Brisbane AU. I am teaching myself Maya. Loving it but sooo hard.
Anyway I have a question: How can I texture polygon cube, but different textures on each face?

Go to faces mode. Right Click> Faces. Then select the face, (So that it turns orange) Then right click on that face only and select your material. If you ever apply a texture to the object, instead of a specific face, it will over ride the individual face's textures.

Or you could have your texture map situated so that what you want will appear on each side.
