Default Rendering optimization

I am about to get a new computer, max price around 2000-2500 dollars. Will it increase render times more significantly to max out my ram or my processor? also, if I plan to render mostly using maya 5's hardware rendering with an nvidia quadro fx, does that even use ram?

rendering go with the processing power all the way IMO, the RAM and the quadroFX will help in the viewports, but the cpu helps most with rendering

try dual processor if you want fast renderers (well, twice as fast as normal so it might still take a while)
it's kinda expensive though
