CPU for Rendering??

Which is the best CPU for Rendering?
I 'm thinking of buying P4 2.8 (800fsb) + 2x512Mb DDR 400…

short answer: the fastest you can afford user added image

dual cpu is better than single
quad is better than dual
two quads networked is better than one quad
... and so on...
