Default CPU for Rendering??

Which is the best CPU for Rendering?
I 'm thinking of buying P4 2.8 (800fsb) + 2x512Mb DDR 400…

short answer: the fastest you can afford

dual cpu is better than single
quad is better than dual
two quads networked is better than one quad
... and so on...
