This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

render shadows

hey all

is there a way to render just shadows?
they will have to follow a contour/shape
how do i get just shadows so the alpha channel is just the shadow

You can render just the shaddows if you render in passes

now to figure this out just managed it in 6 but 7 is so diff
if u know any tuts for ver7 plz let me know im on the look out for 1 if i find a usefull 1 ill also post it up

thats y i asked if ne 1 knew of 1 for 7 as its now done at the layers part not the redender globals

i figured it out now

u out it on its own render layer and chose preset and shadows
