it's definitely an improvement. I'd like to see more skin details...scales or whatnot.

Well... right now there is a lot of texture stretching on the underside and some around the saddle.

Also, the bump map would appear to not follow the contours of the creature's body. There are visible horizontal lines, for example.

And it looks like one of Photoshop's filters. I'd recomend steering clear of them as they are very recognizable.

ok... I'm experimentating with the normal map , it took me almost one day to learn the principles (it isn't as easy as I thought user added image ) here is a pic of the pet with normal map , but I have some questions if you can please help me. Why do I get that black rectangle on the model (it isn't because of the texture because I smeared it , and blured it in that area )?(the map is currently at 512X512)

about that black square...

Possibly you need to reverse normals on those faces?
or
check that the uvs are in the right place. Maybe for some reason or another they got misplaced.

it's looking great. Is the highpoly one just a smooth of the low poly one?

Thx for the ideea , i'll try it tonght (got some exams for school and need to learn). I added faces for the muscles and then smoothed it out, i did some modifications soo it's not just the smoothed version. (maybe that could also be the problem).

I love the poses on the low resolution characters. Personality starts to show through.
