As long promised, here is "Heinrich, the Amazing Dancing Mechanical Man"! It was an experiment in animation/kartoon koreography! :-)
After all the work I did texturing him, I still couldn't resist the cheesy silent film effect! Needless to say, the resolution is a bit rough, but I may try re-outputting it as a Quicktime with no compression.
Thanks, folks! I just re-rendered an uncompressed QuickTime. Hopefully it looks a bit less blurry!
PS, Freaky, you can have that bridge in Brooklyn (I had the Williamsburg Bridge in mind, the Brooklyn Bridge is a bad bargain) for $50 and a bottle of gin! :-)
Oh, yes...I guess the "old-time" effect worked, but any comments on the animation? Does it have weight, &c &c? ALL crits welcome!

Only crit I have is that the poster seems to disappear when it falls down.
ha ha - excellent! well done lt jim. nice to see this finished.
don't think the sign should disappear at the end and it might be nice to see a few other old film effects (like the film jumping a bit more noticeably and a few more splotches and scratches), but really i'm just saying that cos you asked for crits, cos this is really cool.
My biggest problem with it is the fact that it looks SO "Lo-Res" on YouTube. Everything else I've ever done is in the SAME resolution and outputted with the SAME compression (I render everything at "Production Quality", 640X480 to keep it simple & consistent; 24 FPS because I'm used to that timing; square pixels and xvid MPEG-4 compression on after effects)
I did survive the MOTHER of all computer crashes recently. Thankfully, none of my animations or WIP's were lost ( I back all of those up in ten different places), but I did have to reformat my drive and reinstall all of my software. My guess is that it is either in after effects or perhaps in the old film effects settings. FRUSTRATING, as this newest piece isn't consistent with everything else!
Thanks again to all for their comments/compliments! What a great community this is!
