UV tips

Hello i work in maya and photoshop i have moved my uv screenshots to photoshop and was wondering could anyone give me tips on how to get a cartoony or toony look my models are of various beast/animals and i am looking for that kind of look. What are some other special effects i could add to my screenshots to make them look better or just any tips in general, Thank you.

Use a occlusion bake to add some depth to the colour, use it in photoshop as a overlay............dave
