Maya Training

I’ve just finished taking my GCSEs and I’m trying to work out what to do next year. Does anyone know where I take a course based in the UK using Maya?

Heres an idea.

Take Arts & Maths A Levels. If you wanna go somwhere like Bournemouth, these will help. (2 Years)

Then

Take a good art class at a college. Saint Martins Central College in London have a good one. I dont know where you are though. (1 year)

The you can go to Uni.

You should really learn about the fundamentals of 3D such as art, design, trad animation...etc. You can then apply this to any software. After all, Maya is just software, and that can be learnt at home. You should use this time in your life get the basics done, like drawing. To become, say an animator, software is secondary to the accual animation.

Also, I e-mailed Bournemouth last year and was told Maths and and an Art based subject are the two key things needed to get in there.

Yeah, but no but yeah but no....

if you want to work on the more tecnical side of cg i would go to bournemouth uni (thay do do animation but i personaly dont think its any good when compared to the rest of the worlds animation schools). And because thay are a uni you have to have a bunch of GCSEs from school

if you want to do animation i would recoment Southhamton art institute, iv see two very good shorts come out of there in the last few months

if on the other hand your more intrested in making nice pics (illustration etc) i would recomend you goto bournemouth art college (thats where i went btw). Thay wont care about your grades, if you work is good enough you will get in (i managed to get in without any grades what so ever)
