Recommended hardware (XP 32 or 64)

I've been all over the web looking for some recommendations on building the best box for Maya 7. AutoDesk and the old Alias site are not much help and I've yet to find a good article or site. What I want to know is...

Best CPU config. Intel or AMD, single w/ HT or Dual Core or dual CPU?
RAM - 2GB. Should I go for more (XP 64-bit)?
Video: best for $500 or so (7900GTX w/ 512 DDR-3)?
Drive(s): single, RAID-0 or RAID-5? How much is IO bound?

I've not used Maya much and do not know where the bottlenecks are. Can anyone shed some light or refer me to a site?

Thanks in advance,
Kris
