It does look good but its a new logo.....

Dont fancy upgrading form 6.0 to 8 for a marketing excercise with no real improvement to the programme...

Bit cynical over the "new" version of maya as I feel it is more about getting the Autodesk name on the product rarther than a full version upgrade as a few people have said, but hey thats what the other thread is for.

But you knew that....didn't you?

I dislike it for the reason I dislike gangstes/wannabe-gangsters and their grafitti...

...I have no idea what the hell that says...user added image

Well, I mean I have people telling me it says "Maya," so ok...but, left to my own, I'd never figure it out with a gun to my head...

the icon/pic is great... totally... but now that i've read from what v8 offers... kinda disheartens me... i mean is that really a full version 'upgrade'... man.... is autodesk really going to continue maya as alias did with their effort?

*sigh* user added image

LOL its a logo! Looks like Pamela Andersons barbwire tattoo cast off!!

Its a funky 'A' for Autodesk. Standardising their product basically.

Load of Arse, they Could have kept the Old Maya one, at least its readable and signifies the product. This is pretty unreadable as far as a product goes, the marketing dept need a good pair of glasses to see the crap theyve produced LOL

I dislike it for the same reason, exept I've done lots of grafitti when I was young and usually appresiate it. But if this is supposed to be some kind of graph, its real bad!
Plus why spend money and time on redeveloping something that was well established for years. Nobody buys a costly program like that because of cool packaging.

I took a little look at it... A lot of this is kinda abstracting from letters, and the "Y" looks backwards, but...

So...about $6,500 goes towards the 2d logo artists, and about $500 for the program?

Best spent $7k of my life :attn:

what matters

the new logo of maya is a milestone-
it is introducing the new era of maya as
a production tool of the autodesk family.
i understand it is as a guidepost autodesk
set to show the users where they will lead
it to. in my opinion it's just arrogant to
paste over the old logo with such a
licked mysterious shape.
but what matters is what's in and
concerning the guts i'm fine with maya.
