This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Quick photoshop question

Hi,

when I copy my layer (ctrl + a, ctrl + c) then paste it into my alpha channel (ctrl + v), it has centred in the frame, rather than pasting into it's original position. Obviously problematic when trying to create an alpha.

Don't think it done this before... what am I missing?

cheers

It should go straight in and centre. Mine just did okay. If not use the move tool with the shift key down that will do it

is your alpha filling the whole image? If it is just white in some parts and just black in some parts and not white in some with black in the rest that could be causing you your troubles. If you are dragging from one image to another file simply select your arrow tool (v) and shift-drag your layer into the next image. If you are duplicating from one image select the layer and drag and drop it over the new layer button or just ctrl+d it.

There is a shortcut for pasting into the same location (not the default center of the canvas). Try holding some other modifier keys while pasting, like ctrl+alt+v, crtl+shift+v, ctrl+alt+shift+v
