Minigun

Basing it off the handheld one from Predator, reference pics are from "toy" models off the gun as i can't seem to find many good ones from the movie (tried capturing my own, but dodgy hard drive likes to reset when i'm jumping through frames).

On to the images.

I'm not real happy with the grip at the moment and i'll probably end up redoing it, but that's what it looks like for now.

Is that thing belt-fed or does it have an internal magazine?

Damn bjorn, didn't you see predator!? Its backpack-belt-fed!!!! F' YA dude, that dude whos carrying it contributes to cutting down the rainforest with this thang when they see the predator near the begining of the movie. He seriously cuts down like a city block! Then when he runs completely outta ammo, he's soo scared that the barrel keeps spinning for another 30 seconds rofl!

Oh and btw i like ur model. I think the actually handgrip looks good, but that the VERY BLOCKY peices its connected to are.......well....too blocky.

Sure I've seen It, couldn't remember the details though. And I guess the ones with internal drum magazine is a bit heavy to carry user added image

Yeah, i'll shorten the barrels when i'm finished with the rest of it. The reason it's so blocky is that's the way they are, i'm gonna try and get some more screen grabs from Predator, but all the other reference pics i have it's blocky.

Looking up the military designation can help with finding weapon references.

The weapon used in the film is basically the handheld version of the XM214 minigun system developed by General Electric for helicopter armaments. These references might help;

https://www.kitsune.addr.com/Firearms...14_Minigun.htm

It has some things in common with other minigun weapon systems and information on the M134 series is all over the net; you might be able to get some details from them on sites like;

https://tri.army.mil/LC/CS/csa/kpm27.htm#M134

There are also several airsoft versions of the 214 available I believe, these sort of sites have decent enough references on;

https://www.montysminiguns.com/GEFullSizPage.htm

https://www.geocities.com/bbmachinegun/review7.htm

although some of this replica stuff is rather scary they often provide good reference pics for weapon modellers.

From the references I don't think your 'blocky' bits are that blocky, just need a little rounding at the edges really.
