Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Thank ctbram, Jay and bullet.

@ctbram, the squadron of White 1 used that specific eagle emblem on the cowling. White 1 was my second choice as a color scheme to use.

@Jay, I started out with material_x but just could not get it to work. My attempts varied from a lambert to a colored mirror user added image What I'm looking for is a matte surface with the shine of the underlying aluminum metal coming thru. I looked on the net and there are plenty of examples of how to create spectactular new shiny metals but nothing, that I could find, that shows how to create the look I want. Using blinns for now.

I just want to say it's an inspiration to see these military vehicle projects moving steadily forward with such a high level of quality and attention to detail... you know who you are. Keep it up Pixal!

Thanks dave. Not a lot anymore. Just the other wing. The remainder has no camo on it. Just the plain color of the underbelly. What was time consuming were those bloody rivets on the bumpmap. Thankfully I have very little left to do. Just a small bit on the landing gear covers.

Almost forgot. Some on the 500lb bomb as well user added image

Hypershade Question

When one opens the hypershade editor, materials are by default displayed as swatches. How can I change the default display to text? As my materials increase so does the time taken by hypershade to open and build the swatches. On first time open it takes almost 5 minutes.

Oops. LOL. That would help. The MEL script. The swatches are displayed but just not updated.
