Organic DVD - First character

Ok.. i've just got the DVD.. and so far it seems great..
i'm really excited about this because because it's my first character.. my first atempt at any organic modeling at all for that matter.. so here it goes. this is what i've got so far..

Great start for your first character..... Overall your pretty close to the image plane. Just play around pushing and pulling out some more of the form aound the belly and thigh areas.

thanks.. you're right.. so i played around with him for a while.. and decided to make him a bit skinnier.. but maybe it was to much? i kind of like it though...?

back again.. and now i've finished my first character ever!
the dvd was great.. learned loads.. now all i've gotto do is rig this sucker=) i downloaded the rigging tutorial.. but is'nt there an easier way?user added image seems the rigging process is at least asmuch work as modelinguser added image ?
well anyway i'm gonna give the second organic modeling tut a crack..

Looks great man, especially the trenchcoat. Oh, and don't worry about the rigging. It gets easier as you do it more. I get excited when I finally get to rig and pose a character.

thanks=) i was thinking i'd give him some kind of weapon.. but i can't decide if he should have some sort of gun(s) or if i should give him like a big fat broadsword/axe..?

oh.. and another thing.. i think the coat/mask look a bit thin.. liek there made of paper=).. whats teh best way to fix that? anyone knows?

That came out very nice!!! I love it!!!
I would give him an old type of rifle as he looks like a evil nazi soldier!!! A Grenadier maybe...
