Number of Polygons

I was wandering what's the polygon number i should look at, and how many polys they use in game industry.
Is it the "tri" number that i must look for?
What would the poly count be for a sword for instance?

it is the tri count that matters. as for numbers, that's highly relative according to the type of game it is.

A sword in an RPG might be 15 polys, while a sword in a fighting game might be 200 or more.
