I guess most importantly is what do you want to do?
Photoshop, while it lends most favourably to texturing it gives you the ability to do just about anything in 2d.
ZBrush well thats pretty upfront, but is that what you are interested in taking up next?
I wouldn't even bother with After Effects. You have combustion why get another program that does the same stuff in a different manner?

Photoshop would be my first choice, more versatile than Z, but I would save up and get both, together with maya there an amazing combo. As Alexander said theres no point having 2 compositing apps.

Out of every software, hmmmmm have to have a think about that.....

To be honest I think I would like to have a go with houdini, for its dynamics. Other than that I cant think of a software that I "wish" I had, i'm running, Maya, PS, Zbrush, Motionbuilder, after effects and Premier, so I can do whatever I need to do with those apps.
