Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

In what file? It has generated quite a few.

cheers

gubar

edit:

Ok, I see the one you mean. It doesn't mean anything to me though, so I'm putting it up here in the hope that it will to someone else.

It just happened again when I tried to delete the non-deformer history in my scene too.

It looks like its having probles with reading/writing to parts of the HDD, myabe do a reinstall of maya?? As it looks like it cant find a path that it needs.

IF not try it with a new scene and a basic object, if it works it might be that the scene files messed up in some way, so import into a new scene.

Hi gster,

just tried to delete non-deformer history on another scene and it's fine. Tried importing into a new scene, still crashed.

Before I reinstall.. would you (or anyone else) be willing to try my scene if I sent it to you?

Just a matter of opening it and doing two things - deleting the non-deformer histort and baking the blend shape topology.

Just to determine if it is my installation. If I reinstall, I've got to reinstall a number of shaders, some of which are quite a chore.

cheers,

gubar

Thanks for the offer macrae, but you reminded me that I still have 8.5 installed.

I tried it there and it works fine, so it must be an issue with my 2008 installation.

I'm also wondering, if I uninstall and reinstall 2008, will it remove my shaders? I know some folders are left over... anyone know about this?

cheers again macrae,

gubar

Depends where they are.. If there in My Docs then probably not but you will have to link them.

Aren't those the values in the x86 registers being shown?

Looks like an average crash to me, but I'm no expert.
