Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Here are a couple shots of the model without the wire frame visible. The body is still in low poly mode in these.

i don't know why, but i like the look of the feet detached from the body... maybe you could do that with all the body parts, kinda like a mannequin. just a thought.

Well, when I model the robot parts, there will be lines that define the body parts, very much like a manakin. Check out the concept pic on page one. But I need to attach the hands and feet to complete the model the way I plan to.

Thanks for the suggestions, they always help out.user added image

Sorry to say this but I'm not going to be able to finnish my model by the 15th. A computer crash has had me down since last weekend, and I just got it back up today. I think it was an e-mail that might have had a trojan or virus in it or something. Anyway, I'm going to have to send it to the WIP forum after the challenge is over.

I was just getting some good progress done on the head before the crash, now I have to redo what I lost on it. Anyway, I'm still going to finnish this one.

Cheers jsprogg, I plan to finnish it soon. I think now my PC crash was from one of my antivirus programs, and not from a "virus" because when it would update itself after my PC startup, the whole PC would crash. I wish this could have waited till after the challenge deadline.

All my data is safe BTW, and I hope to get back on the model next week. Good luck to everybody in the challenge.user added image

Whew, really glad to hear that you didn't actually loose any of your work. And, I'm glad to hear that you'll still get to finish it later on. Your concept is cool and I was really looking foward to seeing how it would turn out. I think alot of people were.
