My Gollum WIP

Hey I'm new to the forum and to Maya. This is my first project in maya and my first face....all at the same time. Before I had Maya I worked a lot in truespace. Just thought I'd share the beginings of the model with you guys to get some comments and suggestions.user added image

yeah.....I was really just wondering about the modelling technique, because I really haven't done much modeling. I've been sort of more playing around with texturing and rendering, so this is my first real try at modeling something.

Everyone has there own tastes. I like to model, others can't stand to model but love to texture(those are the crazy onesuser added image) You just have to see what suits you. You could try adding your conceptual pic into maya as an image plane. If you are not sure how to do that, check Mikes image plane tutorial here;
