Maya on a lap top

I've got a MAC powerbook G4
60 G hard drive, 1G of RAM.
Raedeon 9500 64m Vidieo card.
I just bought MAYA to learn 3D modeling.
I was just wondering if I am going to run into any problems using MAYA on a less than huge Computer?
I'm just wanting to learn the basics then maybe in a year or two get a bigger and faster computer if I can get the hang of it.
My question is.
Will my powerbook hang with MAYA?

You should be fine. I'm running Maya on a lesser Powerbook without any problems other than the occassional opengl transparency glitch. I blame Aqua for that. :p

I'm running maya on a way less powerful notebook than the one you described. So you should have no problem. user added image
