Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Sorry Stormgetto!
I didn't mean to choose the same character as you. I have no problem switching my idea, just say the word and it's switched! I honestly meant no disrespect!

its all good

Its okay to do the same char. Me and some dude from lightwave are both doing vectorman. It will be interesting to see how you guys make this char your own.

What I lack in skill I make up for with enthusiasm.

Once the competition its about to rebuild the character in our way i don`t see any problem on that.
And I`m quite sure my character will end up diferent from yours.

Also as I said before, will be interesting to see your progress.
The only thing that I ask you:
-Do your best, and good luck for both of us-

My ideas it is still on papels in black and white, I will get this skecths post here asap.

badtertle

you know I saw your thread, and vectorman it is kind unique, but you said another members is doing the same character.
Well I belive this will be interesting to see how You guys will change his shape without changing the comcept plus making diferent from others work.
Well I will look forward to see everyones works including your vectorman.

So here is what I`d took as reference

I found some CAPCOM work of Stride.
I didn`t know CAPCOM was the creator of Strider, I allways though SEGA was the owner.

Well doesn`t matter anyway.

And here`s the concept

I thought could be more interesting in make the character female.

And from what I saw in the internet, Strider it`s a organization of super soldiers, so I came with the idea to make a female soldier.

Another thing is, all this Striders allie, like the wolf, eagle, spider cyborgs.
In the old game they come from nowhere, so I decide to attach all this into character, making more sense. (from my point of view)

One thing I would like to ask is.
If my character is going too far from the original character.
Cause this competition is about re-create the original character right, so I`m quite worry if changing the sex will make completely diferent character with is out of theme of this competition.

Stormgetto-

Your take on the character looks like an improvement to me. In particular I like your design for her torso. It all works really well together.

I started modeling yesterday, and this is what I got until now.
one thing I`d realease this is my first female modeling in MAYA.

Becasuse I come from MAX back ground I still don`t have so many character modeling work in MAYA.

Well I`m not using reference plane for modeling, so maybe will need some change later to make more close to the concept image.
