Maya and Photoshop

Hi forum!

I am really just starting out.

But already it seems to be that you can do a lot of the cool 3d shadowing that you might do with a true 3d Modeling software (like Maya ) in photoshop.

For example, can anyone tell me how I could do this sort of box-like shadowing and shading like this:

bluecow,
Zbrush is a completely different software, photoshop cs3 and zbrush dont even fit in the same category.
Zbrush is a 3d sculpturing software, photoshop is an image editing software.

I Doubt it would take hours of UV mapping to texture a simple object like that.

If its just the shadows that your after then just create a simple scene and render using raytracing, with a nice 3 point light set up, or possibly use final gather and a light dome.
