grey annoying bar when starting Maya

Hello everyone this is my problem:

Everytime when I start Maya, this grey annoying bar appears. I'ts the same grey as the background, so it look likes a bar. I don't know if this happens because I'm working in a pc with windows vista, If anyone knows what's wrong, pleace let me know.

Looks like it could be a GFX issue, whats your card and have you updated the drivers?

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with an integrated intel graphics media acelerator 3100, its a new computer so i have'nt updeted the drivers.

what should I do to fix this issue?

download the latest drivers for your GFX card

It could be the Intel graphics that is causing this, they are not qualified for running Maya and they are not good at running Maya when they work properly.

There is a list of qualified hardware on the Autodesk site so you may want to check that out before you go making upgrades.

Thanks everyone for the info, i've changed my graphic card an now maya is workign just fine.
