This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Fantastic work some guy! Also, is the base mesh Jay provided a z-brush mesh or a mudbox mesh?

going good mate, Ive extended the finishing date to the middle of March, so everyone can get more time and really concentrate on the heads. Especially you if you are moving LOL

THX

its an obj mate so its useable in both sculpting software packages and any of the 3 big ones.

Thanks all!
Ive found out where the problems will be, mainly with the Nose and eyes. Making them "Na'vi-ish" (Like a Lion) Is throwing the proportions out so much it looks nothing like me BUT i think ive found a loophole!
In avatar, Sigourney Weavers character looked MUCH MORE human like than the rest, especially around the nose leading me to belive that she was a Prototype Avatar (more Human than Na'vi) SO!!!

My avatar is not fully Na'vi, rather a prototype that might look a teensy bit more Human than most (unless i find a solution to this problem)

Thanks for reading :S

Someguy

The reason that Siggy Weaver looks more like herself is because she has such a narrow nose in real life it was throwing the character way out when she was Avatared, so they made a decision to make it more like her.

This was what it was said in Cinefex or 3d world mag, I cant remember which one but thats what I read anyway.

Anyway we want proper avatar upper head and you as the lower half, No shortcuts LOL, the time has been extended on the challenge so everyone can stretch their creative and observation skills/muscles a bit more

I may enter myself but for fun only, I am judging it so I cant be included in the comp.

Ask and Ye' Shall Receive!
Good point on the ears, and looking at this i think i have the chin/jaw a bit wrong. Im going for a kinda stylized look though cause i figure if i exaggerated the features itll actually make the likeness more recognizable.

Someguy, could you post a wire?

Jay, I knew it was a .obj file, but what application was the base mesh made from? Just curious thats all.

Also Sigourney Weavers avatar was my favorite one. Couldn't get enough of it.

To bad I cant enter this comp, as my maya is down with my desktop. All of you make me jealous. :headbang:

Kept thinking it was a zbrush or mudbox mesh for some reason hence the .obj file.
