This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
Interesting topic for this challenge so I decided to join. 2 words i got were "disciplinary dilemma". I have a few ideas about what i will do, maybe i'll post some sketches later on.
Thank ya t1ck135 . Eldwick i'm using a program called Modo, from Luxology. It's a real good poly/subd modelling tool, although i've only had it for about a month or so. You should check it out.
Anyway, a little progress on the body and arms, hands are a little rough and still need some work, but i'll move on to the rest for now.
Thanks guys And you're right mat, at least I wanted to be a pirate when I was much younger :bandit: . I think the first pirate movie I saw was The Count of Monte Cristo with Richard Chamberlain, hehe a long time ago...
Ok here are some updates, some close-ups of the feet and finished body. I may have overdone it with the body a bit, the boy will be wearing a t-shirt so no need for details really.
the underside of the feet is looking good.
I'm not too sure about the spaces between the toes though. Generally toes (not between the big toe and first) sit more or less touching unless you force your toes down to spread them or tense your foot.
Kewl thanks for pointing that out t1ck135. Well I began unwrapping the head and realized it didnt really have that young kid look. It looks like a kid just not the type I was looking for I guess, so I decided to remake it. Here's the updated finished one, and also fixed the toes.
Hey vizion - just wanted to say that this is looking fantastic so far. I REALLY like how you are modelling your character. The old version was looking cool too, but this new model is looking even better - the proportions of the head are spot on. I really like the way you have modelled the feet and the hands - the way that you have managed to make them look spindly is just right. Good work vizion - I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.
