Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I like it. The only thing that looks iffy is the knee areas. With that red armor, would the character be able to bend his knees without the armor keeping him from doing do?

yeah I know what you mean... guess I'll be doing a lot of modifying to the armour when it comes to testing out the rig. I'm more worried about the shoulders atm but i might make the armour very slightly pliable to give movements a little more leeway. heres a new pic with the boots re done and a few other mods to the head

That's awesome!! Can't wait to see the action!

You mentioned the shoes: What if you attached the shoe to the shin guard...making it one piece? More boot-like.

Just a thought...

thanks raul user added image
good point hidalgo - didnt really think of that one. could attach them together and change the colour of the shin part to make it look slightly more like a motorcycle boot or something. will post an update over the weekend

heh no privates - he's a cyborg / robot type thingy... though I was thinking of doing a groin attachment like kryten from Red Dwarf(the bionic phallus). Secret weapon or somthing user added image

For reference I've got some footage of me and a friend sword fighting which should be quite fun... he knows a bit of kung foo so theres a bit of me getting kicked around in there too user added image
