Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Longfaced Pirate

A university project whereby I have to model, texture, rig, skin and animate a low poly model interpreted by a children's character, I went for one of the pirates featured in the "Skeleton pirate book" by David Lucas.

Showing the rig I set up, used blendshapes and bones to control areas of the face for expressions, then created controls to pose them with set driven keys.

The character I referenced.

That looks pretty cool. Interested in seeing it in motion.

Thank you, for the project we have to do an idle and walk animation and then towards the end of the unit we use our character to do a short film with so that will be interesting.
