simple curve question

i'm trying to make a simple glass cup. I was planning on making the outline of the cup and using the revolve method. It seems like the fastest way. I was planning on making the outline with the CV curve tool. My question is after you've completed making your curve, is there a way to add more vertices to the middle of your curve?

Switch to component mode (F8) and select the "param points".
Mark on the curve where you want the extra point by clicking on it(a little yellow marker should apear) and choose insert knot from the edit curves menu.
