Help with alpha compositing?

I'm new to compositing, and feel sorta silly asking this, but I'm rendering out a simple revolving model animation in Maya as tiffs, with alpha channel turned out. My question is how do I make sure there is an alpha channel set after I export the frame sequence as a .mov from adobe premiere. Thanks and I hope that makes sense!

Not too sure about prem, have you had a look in the help files as that should tell you how to do it?

by default quicktime files keep alpha channels. you can check by inserting the file into a top layer in premiere with another file underneth it. go to the effects and tell it to recognise the alpha.
