Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Screw Tread

Hey everyone, Newbie here, this is my first post so I figured I ask a question. I'm not that great at modeling so I figured I'd ask around, I'm trying to make a screw and I'm having trouble with the threads. So far what I tried was a CV curve in a spiral shape and then duplicated it twice, scaled and lofted And the result is on this picture. Anybody have any other good ideas that can push me in the right direction.

Thanks, Slick

Give the threads some thickness, right now they look flat. Oh, and round the edges off just alittle, but not too much.
