Problems with Env Sky

Hi,

I'm having some troubles to work with env sky.
If anyone knows how to use it, please tell me STEP BY STEP.

I created a Nurbs Sphere, added a Blinn material with Env Sky texture on its COLOR.

But what I seen is ugly blue circle and white.... resuming.. this does not look like a sky... please.. anyone tell me how to make a sky with env sky STEP BY STEP beggining at the creation of the sphere or whatever geometry you use.

Im sending an image wih the result.

THank you so much and sorry for the bad english...(im brazilian)

You still have to apply an image to the Env Sky's Floor and Cloud attributes. Also, in your scene, you should see a small texture manipulation object in the shape of a half-dome. Scale it up to encompass your entire scene.

'Fraid I'm at work right now, and only have 5 available. It's pretty straight forward, though.

The old How To had it, but I'm yet to find the new one. There's nothing listed under the Tutorials section either for it.

Anderson, there are a lot of things you have to do to get the EnvSky to render properly. One thing is, it's not a texture that you apply to geometry. It has to do with camera settings. Sp that's why you're seeing those nasty colors and things when you render.

I'm looking for that tutorial. As soon as I find it, or something similar, I'll post a link for ya.

But for now what you can do to familiarize yourself with it, im Maya, hit the F1 key to bring up Maya's online help menu. Click on INDEX at the top left and click on E. Scroll down to env_Sky and read up on it.
