Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

I beleive highend3d.com has a nice Chrome shader, which looks very good if you render in Mentalray with final gather. Also, to get some nice highlights, try using a poly box with a very high incandesence to light your object.

The other option would be HDRI, for a more realistic effect.

If you have maya shaders installed you aleady have the best chrome shader.

OK I just did and it came out OK. The thing is I don't want a complete chrome effect. So I just made the lights brighter played with the reflectivity a bit. Put a ball around the logo. Mapped black and white image of earth on the ball... and then rendered it.
