Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

a couple of renders that give ya more of an idea about the shape on the rib's. I forgot to post these last night.

Ah yes, the legs need detail work on the geo.

Stunning work! Care to estimate how many hours you've logged on this project? Besides your loving attention to detail, your superb modelling, smooth rigging and animating, the thing I admire most is that you're willing share all of that with us. Thanks for this.

ummm hours.. have no idea. LOL maybe 28 ? of actual time on it.. There was some experimenting with some things to see what works best.. etc.. and extra time to learn lots of new things. So kinda hard to estimate how much went in to actualy doing it.

NP love to share some things.

speaking of sharing.
this is sort of a 3d sketch of my thoughts on what I will do for the legs.. The hydrolic's housings are not the right size or shape. They're in gray.. the new ones to add and the placement of the tendons will be where the blue tubes are.

gohan, more animations will be coming up. But some things I need to get done on it first. Like I'm redoing the animation controls and how the geo is attached to the bones.

cung, thanks. Working on it faster now. Was doing some experiments.

Re-Rigging it in some ways. And then on to the geo of the shoulder.

Like this. There was way to many cv's and control objects for them on the neck and spine's splineIK's.

Image with the new setup.

Mumbo, love the hooves myself. I'm very happy with them. As Alpha found out I'm using a dirtmap shader. To do an occlution only pass. Then a color only, and combine in photoshop with a multiply. Well for right now thats the only one's I'm doing.

Alpha thanks, and happy rendering with your new dirtmap toy.
