Light hides regular objects

Hi people!

I'm working on scene where two planets crush and when they make collison I use Maya's Visual Effects (OPTI F/X) to make explosion.

But where is the problem? Here it is:
I use point light, then set all the attributes (intensity, radius,...) which depend on the time slider [you know explosion lasts only few seconds (24 fps) from frame 280-352] and then I try to render (IPR, software or whatever it doesn't matter) and I only see light and it's beautiful Halo effect, but no background image or planets.

Would You please be so kind and help me?

my guess would be that the point light isn't actually illuminating anything hit 7 in a shaded view to see the effect that the lights will have you may need to add more lights to the scene
