maya 8.., extrude

i seem to be having a prblem with centering the extrude (and where is 'keep faces together') on maya 8, does anyone know what this is or how to fix it. Difficult to explain, its the first time i've seem it and it was a fiddly sort of modelling i was doing. I should check it out on something basic like a poly cube.

From the sounds of it Mirek, after reading your other post on the matter it sounds like it might be one of the bugs that 8 has got. There's a thread on what appears to be the same issue here: 3dBuzZ Forum: Extrude and Local/World Handle

And a link to the required MEL script here: Alias fix for Maya 8 extrude bug

According to something I just found,
"There is a bug in Maya 8 with the blue manipulator, it doesnt seem to affect everyone though. You will need to replace a file performPolyExtrude.mel it should be in C:\Program Files\Alias\Maya8.0\scripts\others, download it from this link and just replace your current one hope this helps."
