Hypershade

hi everyone,
for some reason maya has decided it doesn't want to show the default lambert and particle cloud in the hypershade. they're there but you can only see a blank name and a black image.
anyone know what to do?

This has happened to many people. So far I haven't figured out anything else than restarting Maya and it works again.

It's a video card issue. I used to encounter this with my geforce 4 ti4200 until I soft-quadro'd it. Haven't had that problem since. For more information on soft-quadro, try this:

You can search the forum as well as this has been brought up many times.
