This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

1v1 Challenge anyone?

Hey, I've been gone for awhile but I'm slowly coming back user added image

I was just wondering if anyone wants to do a challenge with for fun, I really don't care what it is, modeling, dynmics, rendering, w\e.

Of course we would have to talk about the deadline and rules and all but hey, just throwing this out there.

If anyone is interested I'd love to do it.

Not done a lot of animation but that would be ok, I was thinking 4 weeks long? hard surface or organic or both. once we have sorted out what we want we should move down to the battle arena..........idears some thing blowing up maybe (spaceship,house,car or tank........dave

Good idea, yea I really stink at animation.. well rigging. Yea I agree about moving down once we figure out what were going to do. I'm down for blowing something up. If we did do this should we both try to blow up the same geometry? or model our own then blow that one up? I'll do organic modeling too.

Do you have and IM? We can really decide faster that way

How about a torpeado hitting a spaceship can animate or still shot, call it "under attack". I think make your own model as you know how it will drake up..........dave

Ok, sounds good, but can we just say torpedo hitting an object that CAN move (doesn't have to in the shot) such as a spaceship, car, boat, airplane, helicopter etc... are you cool with this?

I think 4 weeks is long but I'm fine with that.

Okay, so lets state some rules here, deadline July 23rd. Objective create a missile\torpedo to blow a car, spaceship, boat, sub, airplane, etc.. up with maya.

We're going to composite too right? or just straight from maya raw? Either way is fine with me.

deadline July 23rd ok

Texturing outside maya ok?
Poll in finished works to find winner ok

Edit can cut to 3 weeks its just I do not have a lot of free time just 20 minutes there and there.....dave

stick in forume "battle arena" with you name and "under attack" in the title should look like "daverave(under attack)"
