coilover (automotive)

was bored and spent a few minutes and made a Tein coilover, just wanted to share, very simple model.

i think i might use the model as just something to use as a tool for getting materials looking more realistic, as it is now its a basic render with no tweaks.

I like the coil, and I am askin everyone who makes a spiral thingy like that, do you use a script or do you hand model it?

Looks good even if its basic.

Looks pretty good.. I have stuidied those quite extensivly.. Used to do alot of car mods.. Its hard to see the thread on the tops from this angle. good choice on Coilovers. for fun you should make damshi or there little guy for the logo that would be sweet. or even make that part that makes them adjustable from the inside of the car.. E.D.F.C is it called? good work man!

Looks nice, Turbo Dan, HDRI always makes inorganics look so nice.

anyway, 3dtotal has a tutorial for modeling a spiral

I don't use Maya much so I don't know of any scripts, but Maya 7.0 comes with a Helix polygonal primitive (it's about time, isn't it! user added image)
