Inspired by cartoon mike

Hi all! I like Mike's cartoon so much I wanted to try a more cartoony character. I am used to modeling more realistic things so I found it suprisingly hard at first to just keep it simple while trying to add a real personality, like in Mike's. It's the one aspect in my modeling I'm really trying to work on.

Let me know what you all think. He still needs his hair, and his ears are not attached yet.

Nice start, Kurt! user added image I think one reason my cartoon model is as successful as it is, is because I drew all sorts of sketches before starting. You can see from www.mtmckinley.net/cg_toon1.jpg all the way to www.mtmckinley.net/cg_toon6.jpg is all drawings. It's probably the most planning I've put into a model so far, and I've really surprised myself. user added image

So, that's my tip-o-the-day. user added image

Keep it up!

Played with the eye area a bit, I brought out the eyes a bit. In the first image the eyes sockets where into to far.

Lot more work done today, just have the eye lashes and hands I hate making hands =). Added nurbs strips for hair I think it works well, will hopefully make them soft bodies and paint some weights to make the hair sway, Dynamics is not my strong point. I gave him some simple ears and made the pupils lager(like them much better bigger)
