Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Any comments on Assault Mech

I just started this tut, and thought I'd post my wip.

No need to say I'm a noob, just started Maya 12 days ago, and have been on holidays for 8 days. So I actually have 4 days of experience in Maya.

Comments and tips are welcome.

Thx

Fella's

Thanks for the compliments. It's really motivating.

I'm definatly planning on texturing it, but I dunno when though. Got a busy working period coming up, so no promisses there. I was looking forward on animating it though (since I'm a compositor) I was hoping I could composite it in a scene shot here at the office. But I noticed the Assault Mech has no animation tut. Anyone can help? Besides the other robot tut I found in the archives? Should I go from there
But first things first. My first model is not even finished. Long way to go.
To top things of, I started the ead but then computer crashed, so....GRRRR.
Really demotivating just before the week-end can only work at it here, on the job.

Just a little update on the bottom of the head where the rotating mechanism will come. Also improvised some details.

C&c always appreciated.

New Mech

Well,

Ifound the time to restart the Mech Tut. Since I'm on Maya 8 now I figured I'd start over and end the PLE version.
Going quite a bit faster now, although the menu's are different and have to look up stuff once in a while I made LOADS of shortcuts, and this REALLY helps. THANKS KURT! YOU the man!

So here are the first screenshots.

Yoooo.

Finally

had some time to work on my 3d assault mech.
Between work and some Maya books.....learning at the speed of light.

Here's a lil update on the Mech I started a month ago.

Lots of tweaking to do.
I would love to put vents in the holes on the side of the top platform.
Any ideas or (free) tuts on how to make this real quick?

Thanks.

C&C please.

Yours,
M.
