The gelato render software should work with Maya 7. I have it and used it with my 6600 GT. It should work with any card regardless of the GPU. Check NVIDIA's Website for the specs.

amazing, thanks for answering. Is it a good renderer. anyway. thanks for answering. I did check there web site but thought i had enough renderes as it was a;ready built into Maya and so wanted to know if anybody used it and what was it like? Is it a pugin

what is strange is now, i am using Maya 8 and when i try to render particles (like for that scene i did in WIP yesterday) Maya says the card does not support hardware rendering and so i have to use Maya 7 for rendering particles or any hardware render, t wont do 'high quality render' in the view port.

also strange is it took 5 days for your response to reach me. i remember about three weeks ago i hadn't heard from SM for months and got 48 messages in one send/return??

??
