Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

the PJ's character WIP

this is my first character head
im taking a maya course and we learned how to cube up model this morning and i thought i would post my head project so far, it will later be used as a lip sync model for some sort of comedy clip.

its based off calvain from the clay animated tv series the PJ's

let me know what you think and give me some suggestions as to how to improve it.

lol nice!

geometry is not clean witch makes those bugs below the mouth and nose and aside the ears...
Further I'd have to say that It is a fun character! You learning well in the cours user added image

Cool, I really like this characters style. As ransick said the geometry is not too clean.

just a small update, smoothed some of the geometry, starting to make blend shapes and will have an animation up shortly

RIGHT CLICK SAVE AS

it requires a divx codec so dont download it until you have the codec installed

i will be working on it all weekend day and night, so i will have updates very soon now that i am done this stupid cartoon head

meritan, how do you make the creases in the body, the lines that connect the nose to the body etc.

When "save target as" I get a file called DaHood.avi which in fact is a jpg-file which looks like:
