Everything does add up but I was answering someone's question (not the main one) there.

Anyways, I recommend that before you upgrade anything, do a clean install of Windows and see if its any faster becuase I've got a computer with less RAM, same video and it can handle scenes with 200 polys ok (that may be because I've got 2 cpus).
